Brickell Avenue is the main road through the Brickell district of Miami.

The history of Brickell Key real estate can be traced back to 1896, when Henry Flagler had a 9-foot deep channel dug from the mouth of the Miami River.
In the process, Mr. Flagler created an off-shore property composed of two small islands.
In 1943, Edward Claughton, Sr. got the Brickell Key islands and eventually purchased additional bay bottom land to combine them to a 44-acre triangle-shaped tract separated from the mansions of Miami's fashionable Brickell Avenue by only a few hundred feet of water.
In the late 1970s, Swire Properties purchased most of the island Brickell Key real estate property from the Claughton, and began to put into place a master plan that would ultimately transform it into one of the most unique island communities in the world.

Make a right on 8th Street and it will take you to Brickell Key.

The Brickell bridge (right above Miami River) lifts up for incoming ships creating some traffic jam in the area.
When you are driving on Brickell Ave. and you see the bridge going up, maybe you can go 2 blocks west and take Miami Ave. and avoid all the traffic, but you have to get there before the ship, because there is another bridge there.

Also you can see Brickell Avenue and 5th Street.
As you can see Brickell Miami does not stop growing, it looks like they implode one building today and construct another one tomorrow.
