History

Manual manipulation of the spine and other joints in the body have been around for centuries.
Chiropractic was accidentally discovered in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer when he restored the hearing of Harvey Lillard by manually adjusting his neck.
As a result, D.D. Palmer realized the importance of chiropractic and dedicated his life to educating others about it.
His passion to educate the world was unshakable.
So much so that he opened the first chiropractic school in Davenport, Iowa in 1897 and named it Palmer College of Chiropractic.

The chiropractic adjustment focuses on treating the subluxation.
A subluxation is a misalignment of a joint in the spine that is causing pressure on a nerve root.
That pressure results in symptoms such as headaches, neck/back pain, arm/leg numbness or pain, etc...

If left untreated, a subluxation will eventually lead to disease and interference in the nervous system.
Therefore, the goal of a chiropractic treatment plan is to clear the body of any subluxations so that the nervous system will function at it's optimum and the patient can be healthy and pain free.
