Ocean Drive Miami

Ocean Drive 1920

Ocean Drive in 1920 and Ocean Drive today.

Ocean Drive and Lummus Park

Ocean drive By Ed Melo Ocean Drive Miami is the most famous street in Miami, it is located in the southern part of Miami Beach.
This is where the fashion, culture and lifestyle meet.
There is so many things to see while walking down Ocean Drive, the bars, cafes, lounges and restaurants are too numerous to name them all.
At times Ocean Drive seems like a giant public catwalk of beautiful people.
Besides being in a wonderful open environment full of excitement, Ocean Drive Miami features some of the finest restaurants and hotels in Miami, and of course the beach is right behind it as well.

The white sand of South Beach stretches for miles and the white sand and blue water goes very well with the Art Deco buildings that have made Miami Beach famous around the world.
South Beach is also one of the very few beaches in the U.S. where topless sunbathing is not only allowed, but also considered normal.
If you're more of the active type their are volleyball nets all along the beach and the beach can also be used for jogging.
Ocean Drive is where everything that makes Miami what it is, is at:beautiful people, Art Deco buildings, tropical locations and latino music blaring from most clubs or hotels.
Almost all of the hotels on Ocean Drive are located on the west side of the street.
On the east side of Ocean Drive is Lummus Park, along with a 48-block boardwalk. Although some hotels are not oceanfront, they do have a view of the park and sand dunes that lead up to the beach.
This would be a great location to check in a hotel, they have great prices and views anywhere in Ocean Drive.
Restaurants: there are many great places to eat, they vary from culture to culture when choosing their foods.
You can find foods from anywhere from a Brazilian dinner to a Chinese Cuisine.
Ocean Drive Miami is definitely a place to be when in Miami Beach.
With its sizzling nightlife scene, spicy Latin cuisine and miles of white sandy beaches, Miami is a vacation spot enjoyed year round.
Ocean Drive is lined with handsome Art Deco buildings, many of which have featured in television advertisements and in films.
Ocean Drive is a broad beach of firm white sand which is busy throughout the year.
The Art Deco District, now statutorily protected, extends between 5th Street in the south and Indian Creek in the north and between Ocean Drive/Collins Avenue and Lennox Avenue. It contains several hundred buildings, mostly dating from the thirties and restored in recent years.
This historic district, decried in the sixties as the "old people's home of the United States", has now taken on an astonishing new lease of life.
Many of the old hotels and apartments have been restored to their former splendor, and there are numerous inviting cafes and restaurants advertising their attractions with colored neon signs.
